1909→1924: A small business began to bloom
Harry Warehime produced our first Olde Tyme pretzels. The Snyder family began frying potato chips and making angel food cakes then selling them in local stores, fairs and farmer’s markets. The Warehime and Snyder families joined their forces to make their small business a success.
1940→1980: Snyder’s Golden Age for their new innovations & merges
Modernization was at the core of Snyder’s business: the potato institute was created to communicate efficiently with the local competitors, aluminum foil bags were used to preserve the product, the first merging occurred with The Bechtel Pretzel Company.
1984→2004: Times of hardships and hopes
Snyder’s witnessed a tragic event on the night of the 2nd of December 1989 when the Hanover pretzel bakery burned to the ground. Fortunately, the reconstruction process took place, leading to the expansion of their facilities. Two of Snyder’s products won the Automatic Merchandiser’s Product of the Year Award and Health Magazine’s “best of food” award.
2010→2018: New products for new beginnings
Snyder’s introduced the certified Gluten-Free Pretzel Sticks in 2010, reintroduced two new Certified Gluten-Free Pretzel Sticks and new flavors were added. Snyder’s entered the cracker category with the New Wholey Cheese! Line and introduced the Gluten Free Hot Buffalo Wing Pretzel Pieces.
